Your Hermes agent, posting to Threads and Instagram.
Install Outpost, connect your accounts, paste one config block into Hermes. No Meta developer account, and your tokens never leave your machine.
Post the autumn menu carousel to @kopi.senja at 18:30 tonight
Scheduled. 3 photos, caption ready, it goes out at 18:30. You've used 84 of 100 Instagram posts today.
Set up in three steps
1
Install and run
Outpost runs on the same machine as Hermes, on your laptop or a VPS. Docker works too.
2
Connect your accounts
Click Connect, log in to Threads or Instagram, approve. A pairing code ties the login to your app.
3
Give Hermes the tools
Copy the config block from the dashboard into Hermes. It can now post, schedule, reply and read insights.

Called directly with your own token
This website is only involved when you connect an account: it trades Meta's login code for a token (that step needs our app secret) and hands the token to your app, encrypted. It keeps nothing.
Questions
- Do you store my posts or tokens?
- No. This site only helps you log in with Meta. Your access token goes straight to the Outpost app on your machine, encrypted so only that app can read it. Posts, comments and insights never pass through our servers.
- Which Instagram accounts work?
- Business and Creator accounts. Meta's API doesn't support personal accounts. You can switch for free in the Instagram app under Settings → Account type.
- Do I need a Meta developer account?
- No. Outpost connects through our verified Meta app. You just log in and approve the permissions.
- How many posts can Hermes make?
- Meta sets the limits: 250 Threads posts and about 100 Instagram posts per account per day. Outpost shows how much is left and stops before you hit the limit.
- What happens if my computer is off?
- Scheduled posts wait. When Outpost starts again, it publishes anything less than 6 hours late (you can change this) and marks the rest as missed.
